On Fox today a study reported that 85% of those who contracted the virus wore face masks.
I've known this since I saw a study done in 1919 for the Spanish Flu. Everyone was required by law to wear a face mask at all times in Stockton, but people could do what they want in Boston. In Stockton 75 people died per week per 100,000 population. In Boston only 5 died per week. Why is this? Because the face mask acts as a collector of bacteria and a petri dish. Under a blue light you can see your face mask is smothered in particles from foreign objects. Then you touch the mask. Then you touch your face. Inadvertently, everyone is touching their face masks with their hands over 100 times per day. With no face mask people only touch their face 22 times an hour.
The other factor is over confidence with a face mask. The aerosol from our mouths can travel up to 5 feet through the side of the mask and through the front of the mask. You can see this on video. 10 feet is needed for no mask and 5 feet for a mask. But if you wear a mask you end up trusting the mask more than you should. People get too close, or you get too close to them. But without a face mask everyone is extra cautious. Scientifically we should do without the face mask, but like that is ever going to happen esp. in democratic states who want to lock down everything.
