The Holy Spirit told me this person is not born-again, because to be born-again is once-saved-always-saved. Whereas the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox claim you can lose salvation. If you can lose salvation it simply shows you were not born-again. Thus, salvation is not by works, or one's own strength to gain or lose it, lest anyone should boast.
Let this lesson be that people can use the exact same words you use, but mean something entirely different.
