All this babble talk surrounding Serena Williams is b.s.! to the nth degree. Why do I say this? Because the core of the issue is what matters, not umpires unionizing. Everything else beyond that is diverting attention. The bottom line is Serena did not cheat, she was not receiving signals from her coach, and the timeliness of this was absurd in the heat of the battle! The coach put two fingers up in a congratulatory manner. That's not coaching. And even if it was, Serena was not doing it nor using it so she was in her right to call out the referee. She was perfectly in her right then to call the referee a thief. Men have done much worse.
If Serena was a white Hispanic or Caucasian I don't think a whole game would have been stolen from her.
I don't think this is a gender dispute at all. I think it is racism against black people; racism concealed as a gender issue. To take away an entire game, the most crucial game of the match, made it virtually impossible for Serena to come back and win because she would have to break serve twice from 3-4 with the penalty to 3-5.
Carlos Ramos unilaterally decided the match and in disgust advertising dollars have been pulled. Companies don't want to be associated with racist activities of referees. It's bad business.
Isn't this pathetic, racism is being covered up as gender inequality by a white racist Hispanic referee?
With the serve Serena could have tied it up 4-4, but she was denied that opportunity when the umpire made it 3-5. Carlos Ramos` true intentions are known by the world now in his final year as a referee. His ego got in the way and didn't care about the big picture, just defending his huge ego.
