"God not only foresaw the fall of the first man, and in him the ruin of his posterity; but also at [God's] own pleasure arranged it" (Institutes of Christian Religion, III, xxiii, 7, John crazy man Calvin).
God had "ordained by his decree" for "his own pleasure" (III, xxiii, 7).
So God sends people to Hell when God is the one who is the cause of their sin?
In this evil scheme, "[E]verything which [God] wills must be held to be righteous by the mere fact of his willing it. Therefore when it is asked why the Lord did so, we must answer, 'Because he pleased.'... He is a law to himself."
So Calvinists don't question their god.
He pleased to pass over the reprobate even though they are bound for perdition because God made them that way.
It is nothing more or less than that. That sounds like an easy faith. Where do I join up?
There is no reason why he picks some people and not others. He arbitrarily does it and you will just have to accept that it is random and arbitrary. This is the God who creates. And no it is not gnosticism being created by an evil creator. Or is it?
When Calvin was asked how his co-religionists should respond, he said, "Whenever they presume to carp, let us begin to repeat: 'Who are you, miserable men, that bring an accusation against God?'" That is the only answer he said his co-religionists should give: "We shall gain nothing by preceding farther." TRANSLATION: THAT'S ALL WE GOT! A losing argument only goes so far.
There you have it. An arbitrary autocrat, that arranges "the fall" of human beings, a law unto himself, punishing human beings for being and doing exactly precisely what he made do and be.
An why? As Calvin put it, "To glorify [God] by their destruction." Feeling ready yet to admit yourself to the asylum for the mentally deranged?
The good news friends is that in reality no such god exists! The problem though remains with such a popular teaching that so many believe in, there is the obvious question of justice and how what they perceive to be supreme justice will filter down negatively through them upon the human race to corrupt mankind and make them "totally depraved" if I may use that phrase. Maybe they will get their wish after all to achieve what they have long sought to prove man is totally depraved. Such gross injustice is a tragedy that befalls the many who do not believe such mind-numbing beliefs.
The founder of this state of delusion's best answer is "Who are you, miserable man" to ask such questions about the great and high mighty God of Calvinism. We know what sort of beings used that kind of logic and tactic.
