"For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit" (1 Pet. 3.18).
Jesus didn't die for some of the unrighteous, but all the unrighteous so that those who would receive Him might be brought to God, being put to death in the flesh and made alive in the spirit--that is our innerman.
This is the God of love. Not only can He do this, He did do this.
