View Full Version : Trying to Fill the Hole in Your Heart With Self

I think the hole in your heart essentially is in how you have no reverence for God who entered His creation and died for our sins to save us, because neither can we save ourselves nor keep ourselves saved. That's reality. We are infinitely less than God; God is infinitely greater than us. What pride it must take a man to think he can save himself or keep himself saved. That is the biggest glaring problem of a false salvation, shared by all religions of the world and most of Christendom, wanting to save yourself and keep yourself saved with your own strength rather than giving it up for God to keep you, to enable you to walk by the Holy Spirit.

But there is one other thing that is nearly as disturbing and that how you look at God's word. Over 1500 years the Old Testament was complied, showing no man can save himself, no man can keep the law. Sinning even one little sin sends you to Hell and eternally separates you from God. Then the New Testament comes in which Jesus fills up the law (Matt. 5.17). Only He was able to. The salvation men looked to is the same salvation we look back upon in which the perfect ransom was paid. The NT was written, completed with the book of Revelation to show what will be in eternity future for those who received genuine salvation. To think God's word was deficient or missing for centuries (e.g. 1800 years for Mormons) or needed to be added onto (Roman Catholics and other non-OSASers like Eastern Orthodox) is the heresy of later generations. So God gives Revelation 22.18,19 that touches this matter deeply. All you guys are not just wanting a selfish salvation, but you also add books to the Bible or alter it or take away from its words to rationalize your selfish salvation.

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book" (Rev. 22.18,19). Jesus is clearly saying this to cover all the books of the Bible in which Revelation was the last book of God's word. It's final. So Mormons who claim some of the Bible is wrong doesn't cut it. When Catholics and Orthodox add extra books, they are showing their hearts.

Christ is our center, and the 66 books of His word centers us in Him. You can't change it. You can try, but you will fail. All of you will: the Mormon, other non-OSASers and Roman Catholics. My prayers go out to you all.

None is allowed to add to or to take away from the words of the Bible. The warning against this is most serious. The holy city is the same in verse 14, but the individuals are not the same spoken of.
