Default Why Matt. J. Slick and Shawn Aaron McCraney are not Christians

Adiaphora (Romans 14) are non-essential truths like what day to worship or what food to eat. A new born Christian may not know many things. He might only know that Jesus is God, died for our sins, and rose from the dead. But that Christian will not reject important truths in the word of God. The person who worships a false Christ will adamantly teach heresies such as amillennialism, gibberish babble, and Calvinism. Such a person is not saved and is going to Hell.

The premillennial view is essential for notice how far apart it is from amillennial. The premillennial believer believes Jesus will return to reign on earth for 1000 (Rev. 19.11, 20.4) with his overcomers (2.26,27), but the amillennial view teaches Jesus will not return to reign on earth for 1000 years. So when Jesus returns to reign on earth for 1000 years, Matt Slick will reject Jesus even as he does now.

What about different premillennial views? Partial rapture, Pretrib Onlyism, or Posttrib Onlyism. They can be essential depending on the circumstances. For example, if you are posttrib then you take away the hope of the Church for God's desire is for believers to be taken and not left (Matt. 24.40-42, Luke 21.36, Rev. 3.10). Depending how you treat those who were first raptured according to readiness, you may or may not be a Christian. If you realize after a couple million are raptured alive before the Tribulation that you were mistaken, not ready yourself, and accept them as brothers and sisters in Christ then you are a Christian. But if like Satan you keep accusing them day and night then I know you are not a brother in Christ. If you believe in pretrib then when you are in the Tribulation and observe a couple million first raptured, if you accept you were not included because you were not ready then I consider you a Christian. But if you accuse them day and night like posttribers then I know you are not a Christian for what Christian accuses the brethren?

Matt Slick believes in gibberish babble, but Jesus would never let someone into Heaven who practices gibberish babble. That's zombie talk! The gifts are for today, and tongues is the gift of languages to spread the gospel to the nations. Satan wants to dumb your mind and dull your spirit down with nonsensical mind-numbing gibberish babble in order to degrade your conscience.

Slick admits he rejects "regeneration". He calls it doctrinal regeneration. What he means by this is OSAS Arminian. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost" (Tit. 3.5). "Let him who desires take the water of life without price" (22.17). "To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God" (1.12-13). "You refuse to come to me that you may have life" (John 5.40). Calvinists practice "will-worship" (Col. 2.23). In other words, as aptly stated by Watchman Nee, "Man is not regenerated because he wills it so" (The Spiritual Man, CFP white cover, vol. 3). Very simply stated, Calvinists refuse to repent and believe in Christ to be regenerated. Instead, contrary to God's word, they will it of themselves they were irresistibly selected. God will never receive someone with that pompous attitude. Only OSAS Arminians are saved.

Shawn McCraney said he for the most part agrees with Matt Slick, but disagrees with essential truths for salvation. This alone shows why Shawn is not a Christian, because though one might disagree what is essential or not, one at least should agree there are certain doctrine that are essential for salvation such as not rejecting the Jesus who returns to reign on earth for 1000 years. Shawn rejects the Trinity because he can't understand how Monotheism can be Triune. Shawn never really left his Mormon cult roots; he carries lots of baggage with him. He said, "When it comes to viewing the Trinity, I do not consider that Monotheistic." He just admitted he is not a Christian. At first glance one might consider Shawn a Christian but when you find out he rejects the Trinity and essential truths for salvation, you know he is starting up his own cult and is not, nor has he ever been, a brother in Christ. And that's sad. Since for eternity he will reject the Triune God and essential truths for salvation where can God place him but in the Lake of Fire for all eternity.

McCraney also said "The Bible was never meant as a manual for how to do Church today." He is effectively rejecting the word of God for the Church age (dispensation of grace). The Bible is very clear how to do Church. Revelation 2 & 3 mention things each church period needs to overcome. Apostles are directly chosen by God to appoint Elders over a church locality, and those Elders approve of the Elders of many meeting places in a locality. That's the proper starting point of how the Church is organized then the Bible guides us in all kinds of ways how to conduct ourselves in Church. Just as Mormons downplay the Bible so does Shawn.

McCraney is crazy. He said he is "not absolutely sure Jesus was not married." Wow! Mormons teach Jesus was married too. The Bible says we shall know a person by their fruits. I hope you are seeing that both Slick and Shawn were never born-again, and as long as they have been in Christendom, I don't believe they will ever give their lives to Christ. They are set in their ways. It gets worse and worse, Shawn said "the Bible is secondary". The word of God is secondary? Wow! Shawn said "church history is inconsequential." If Church history is inconsequential then why does the Bible foresee challenges that the body of Christ must face in Rev. 2 & 3? If we don't learn from past mistakes, we are likely to repeat them.

    Shawn & Slick are Wackos

Slick and Shawn argue over some guy on a remote island who never heard the gospel before. Slick said he would not be saved. Shawn said he could be saved. Both don't understand how they are wrong in their understanding. Slick is wrong because he denies general revelation can lead a person to accept Jesus is I AM. In other words, if a person accepts the God of the mountains and stars, surely he would accept Jesus when given the gospel. Thus, God saves that person. Slick quotes several verses to try to support his irresistibly imposed salvation and preterition, but none of those verses say that. God is the giver of all things is the actual interpretation.

Shawn said there as no Bible for 250 years. Of course he is wrong since all the books of the NT were completed in the 1st century, and the OT was available too. It was not mass produced, but copies increased over time and more got their hands on it. These things take time. I would not use the argument that there is no Bible available for 250 years. Though not everyone had a Bible at least people could hear what the word of God said from the Apostles, Elders, Evangelists, Prophets, Deacons, and Shepherds/Teachers (Eph. 4.11).

Slick said during the early Church "people in Australia are going to Hell" because they never heard the gospel. Slick is wrong because general revelation leads to special revelation of the gospel. Slick contradicts his own Calvinism because he said, "get the word out and preach it to everyone". Why would you need to do that if everyone is irresistibly selected or preterioned anyhow? It makes delivering the gospel a charade. In response Shawn rightly said "what we are really talking about is Matt's Calvinism".

Shawn is so confused. He said, "How do we know whether Jesus had wings or not?" If you have to ask that question, you're hopeless. Some things are figurative, others are literal. Where did it ever say in the Bible Jesus had wings? Surely if Jesus had wings, it would have been pointed out. Jesus came in our likeness. Do humans have wings? No. Shawn is surprisingly daft sometimes.

They argued over the snake in the Garden. According to my study Satan was not in the serpent, but it was some demonic spirit in the serpent that tempted Adam and Eve. What happened was when the firmament was split, day 2 the only day not called a good day, unavoidably up came some of those demons that were cast into the deep in Gen. 1.2. One of them was allowed into the Garden to tempt Adam and Eve.

They both state that you can be a Christian yet reject the 66 books of the Bible, add to them, or take away from them. Wow! Coocoo. The Holy Spirit says if you reject the 66 books of the Bible are the complete word of God, no more, no less, then you're showing you are not a Christian (Rev. 22.18,19).

Slick said Jesus was baptized at age 30, but my study tells me that Jesus was baptized at 33, was born 6 BC, and died when He was 37. Slick believes in infant baptism even though it is not found in the Bible. Baptism is after being saved experiencing dying to the world and coming up out of the water with Christ as a sojourner. Slick said Jesus was sprinkled by water, but Matthew 3.16 says, "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water." It does not say He came up out of sprinkling. Funny.

Why else is Shawn not a Christian? Shawn rejects the Jesus who sends people to Hell for eternity (Rev. 20.10, 14.11). Free will is not truly free if you don't have this free choice. So if people only go to Hell for a short while then everyone is saved. How is that any different than universalism?

Slick is not a Christian because he is amillennial. Matt. 24.32-25.30 is the section speaking to the Church whereas Matt. 24.4-31 is speaking to the Jews. Both the "taken" and the "left" are saved. "Then we which are alive and left shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thess. 4.17). "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" (Matt. 24.40-42). Salvation is not by works so speaking to Christians, "your Lord doth come," you will either be taken or left. It's better to be taken, raptured, not left to pass through the Tribulation and raptured at the end. If taken refers to the unsaved, God would never speak to a heathen by telling him to be watchful.

Slick was asked by Shawn, "Are you a partial preterist?" Slick said yes. Preterists teach most prophecy was fulfilled 70 AD and Revelation is mostly already fulfilled. We are in the church age of Rev. 2 & 3. The last church period is Laodicean of "differing opinions." The Seals are the past 20 centuries. Rev. 4 is a picture of earth from heaven. Rev. 5 recounts the cross. The cross is seen in the 1s Seal in which Jesus has a bow without an arrow implying the bow has been shot giving Satan a deadly wound by the cross. Seals 2, 3, 4 are general in nature. The 5th Seal may have taken place recently. The 6th Seal is mostly completely. The first rapture "before the throne" (Rev. 7.9) before the 1st Trumpet of the Tribulation (8.7) has not taken place yet. Rev. 8-11 are the major points of the Tribulation. Rev. 12 to 19 give the details of those major points. Rev. 19 Jesus returns. Rev. 20 is the millennial kingdom. Notice verse 3 says Satan is cast into the pit 1000 years and the nations are no longer deceived. If we are in the 1000 years now why are there still wars and rumors of wars? The nations are still deceived. Rev. 21 is eternity future in the New City and New Earth.

Shawn is a FULL preterists. He's even worse than Matt. Full preterists teach Jesus returned 70 AD. Funny.

Matt argues gibberish babble must be true because the charismatic gifts did not cease. That's a red herring. Of course the gifts still exist. All Christians, for example, have the gift of the Holy Spirit. Nobody is claiming the gifts ceased; rather, tongues is the gift of languages to spread the gospel to the nations. Not everyone has this gift. Gibberish babble is a sign of the evil spirit.

Shawn McCraney said he was born-again believing God the Father was a man and Jesus was his physical son and the Devil was one of Jesus' brothers. Someone needs to tell Shawn to have no other gods. God is a spirit and triune. If God the Father was a man who exalted himself, and his father did the same, how is that Monotheism? For in monotheism, there is only one uncreated Creator, and no men becoming gods. God is spirit. Nobody has ever seen the Father. We can only see Jesus who is the fullness of the Godhead bodily, fully God and fully man.

Shawn keeps mentioning wooing with love, but he is attempting to do so without giving what the Bible says to people how and why we need to be saved. Is that love? Therefore, he presents a false gospel, appealing to emotion, rather than spirit touching spirit. Why is wooing with God's love mutually exclusive of presenting the word of God? The way to woo people is to explain to them why we are sinners, why we need to get saved and prove how Jesus is God and the Trinity is true.

Slick is abusive towards women yet another sign why he is not a Christian. He says women cannot be directly chosen by God as Apostles, nor are Apostles allowed to appoint women as Elders. Of course that is false because Junias was an Apostle, and there were women who had positions of authority. There are lots of explanations for further proof women can be apostles, elders, prophets, evangelists, deacons, shepherds/teachers.

Women Apostles and Women Elders -- I feel sorry for Matt J. Slick's wife if he is married.

    The Trinity

Shawn contends with the Trinity, but then if the Trinity is not true, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are created. This is yet another proof, showing why Shawn is not a Christian. Shawn says about the Trinity it "it not for me." Shawn has never been born-again because he makes Jesus a created being like all cults try to degrade Jesus. This is yet another way to reject God Almighty. Since the Father is the first and the last, alpha & omega, and so is Jesus, only the Trinity can make sense of this. Jesus is "equal with God" (Phil. 2.6). Jesus is not praying to Himself when He prays to the Father so Modalism is just as false as Arianism (claiming Jesus is a created being). Shawn says he could be wrong about the Trinity, but when he is before Jesus he won't change his mind. Even as Jesus is explaining it to Shawn, Shawn still can't fathom the Trinity so how will he accept what he can't understand?

The 3 Persons of the Trinity each have their own will. They can interact as persons do. Before time and space though there was no sonship. Sonship was given for creation so the 2nd Person would show us how to live and die for us. There was no Father, Son, Spirit before time and space, but simply the 3 Persons. There was no subordination. For the purpose of creation we see the operations of the Father, Son and Spirit manifested by the 3 Persons of the Godhead. The atonement would not be valid if Jesus was giving an atonement to Himself. Rather, He presents an atonement acceptable to the Father.

Where we see the Godhead mentioned as a plurality, Shawn claims like Mormons this is a heavenly host including angels that are creating. But the angels never created anything. Only God created all things. Shawn said he doesn't want to submit himself to a God that requires he believe that the Son is equal with the Father in the Trinity. There you have it, he said it, he will forever reject the Triune God in which the Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Spirit and the Spirit is not the Father, but comprise the 3 Persons of one being.

Shawn commented on John 1.1: "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word is God." Shawn said that the "word" is from God, such are God's words, they were always His and with Him. But the "word" is later identified as Jesus, not just words of God. "He [Jesus] was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not" (John 1.10). Shawn is teaching Modalism which is a heresy. Jesus prayed not to Himself but to the Father. Therefore, the 3 Persons of the Godhead are necessary. What Shawn believes is God puts on 3 different masks, 3 different personas. Whereas the Trinity really has this distinct 3 Persons each with their own will in the Godhead. This shows in God's Godhead He is relational within Himself. Humans are also tripartite: spirit, soul and body. Our spirit has God-consciousness, our soul has self-consciousness, and our body has world consciousness. These 3 parts in us communicate with each other. These are not 3 different masks we can put on (modalism), for God breathed in the breath of life directly creating man's spirit, and when the spirit made contact with the body, man became a living soul with a spirit and a body. Three distinct parts of our one being, distinct but not separate.

Shawn is really messed up. He rejects the Hypostatic Union in which Jesus is fully God and fully man. He said Jesus only had one nature. This is a heresy. Virtually every church council ever formed rejected this heresy of monophysitism.

By Shawn's liberal theology if he is not a false Christian then who is?
Shawn is recognizing the profitability of telling people what they want to hear, and most people want a very liberal theology.
