Default A Great Way to Disprove Calvinism by Understanding the Flesh

What do Calvinists hang their hat on? Total depravity. If this idol can fall then all 5 points of Calvinism are destroyed. Total depravity means nobody will ever choose Christ unless irresistibly regenerated first. They use phrases like "man is dead" or "fleshly."

But let's look at Scripture more closely. "3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)" (2 Cor. 10.3,4). "That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Rom. 8.4).

Believers still have the flesh, but we do not war according to the flesh. Before man is born-again, he is flesh. After the new birth man still has the flesh. The flesh may be rendered "ineffective" (meaning of "destroyed" in Rom. 6.6), but the flesh is still there and singularly powerful. Likewise before salvation and after a person can accept the cross by the grace of God and wooing of the Holy Spirit.

Calvinism is such terrible nonsense. For example, Mark 6.12 says, "So they went out and preached that people should repent." Why would anyone go out and preach that people should repent if they are unable to? They can't be preached to unless they were irresistibly made to repent. Calvinism comes straight from the pit of Hell and is ass backwards.

If the flesh means you are Totally depraved as Calvinists believe, then man is still Totally depraved (Total inability/Totally unable) after he is saved because he still has the flesh, for it has not been eradicated by the new birth. If it is the case that man is still Totally depraved after receiving new life, Calvinism is twisted since man needed to be irresistibly saved as well as irresistibly made to function after being saved because he is still of the flesh. Everything is so robotic in Calvinist it takes away from God's Sovereignty to be able give man sufficient grace to have the free choice. God fellowships with free willed beings, not robots.

Therefore, man cannot be Totally depraved. This heresy falls on its head. Certainly, man is depraved and yet received sufficient grace to accept the cross of salvation. When Calvinists have this restricted view of the flesh (i.e. Total depravity), they take away what Paul said that his flesh lusts after the spirit and the spirit lusts after the flesh which is free will.

"Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." (Rom. 8.12-13)

"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God" (Rom. 6.13). Sounds like free will to me unless it is just a charade.

Calvinism is fatalistic. John Piper said so.
