Jesus in Luke 21 describes the First Century tribulation of the Church at the hands of The Romans. Verse 32 shows Jesus stating, "This generation shall not pass away, til all be fulfilled." He was referring to the "all" which He had just been describing, and the "generation" was that of His listeners.

Verse 36 then has Him making the statement, "That ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass," referring to the people to whom He was speaking, in that they would through their Faith in Jesus escape that terrible time which occurred in their own lives. He made no mention of future generations.

Praise God for His gift of genuine Faith which enables us to accept the very Words of Jesus even as there are many who would try to explain away their clear and open significance. In Faith we can believe Jesus' Words were fulfilled as He said they would be. Let not our hearts be troubled. Amen.
