Historians don't throw out all history. We can glean some facts from history so to deny the books of the Bible entirely is entirely fallacious. What can we glean for these historical documents in question?

Well one thing historians and even skeptical scholars are confident in is that Paul really wrote and believed what he wrote in 1 Cor. 15, Gal. 1 & 2, for he set up many churches with the original disciples, working with them and others like Mark, Barnabas, Titus, and Luke.

In these 3 chapters he said he spent 15 days with Peter. Suffice it to say they talked about more than just the weather. He also said he spent time with John, the disciple whom Jesus said he loved most, and James, the brother of Jesus who originally didn't believe his brother was God until he saw Him alive after he died on the cross. James was an Elder of the Jerusalem church.

James, the brother of John, was martyred early on in Acts, so the disciples knew they did not have long to live; they would all be martyred except for John, who was imprisoned.

Paul recited the gospel of the resurrection of Jesus that was eyewitnessed and testified by the disciples, preserved both by oral tradition and written word. Peter and John in their respective books said they saw Jesus alive from the dead.

The multiple appearances were in different settings and with different sets of people as recorded throughout the 4 Gospels and Paul's writings.

We are not saying it is true simply because they said it, but because people don't willingly let themselves be put to death for what they know to be a lie. If anything they would seek to save their lives by lying if they had to. (They said they saw Jesus alive from the dead, so we need to account for it somehow if we want to be honest with ourselves.)

Given this data that is universally accepted, you would have to find a naturalistic explanation for the origin of the disciples' beliefs, the burial, empty tomb and appearances of Jesus. Unless and until you do so, you're effectively saying you are going to Hell.

That is your free will choice in action.
