Jesus both fully God and fully Man

Jesus is both fully God and fully man. However, He is only fully man when in creation. When He is not in creation He is not fully man nor a man at all outside of creation for God is spirit. The Bible tells us so. God is only a man when in creation, and only the 2nd Person at that is a man when in creation, not the 1st or the 3rd Person.

So when Jesus died, He physically died because his heart stopped beating and he was no longer a man in the creation. He died as a man. Did He die as God? God can never die since God is eternally existing. This does not mean Jesus becomes two persons as some then accuse, for He is still One Person of the Godhead always. When He returns to reign in the millennial kingdom on earth, He returns as a man in His resurrected, spiritual, physical body as was seen by the apostles.
