Hot Tub Conversation with a Muslim

I had a conversation with a Muslim today.

I asked him what evidence does he have to claim six centuries later Jesus never died on the cross and that it was an imposter sent from heaven in his place by God to deceive the Apostles?

He had no evidence.

So I ask him if God is a liar? He said no. Then God did not send someone to die on the cross in place of Jesus to deceive the Apostles.

Hence, Islam is a lie.

The person who claimed to be Jesus after the resurrection did not lie to the Apostles because God would not send such a person from heaven to be a lying deceiver.

Furthermore, why would God bring in an imposter of Jesus who talked like Jesus, looked like Jesus, so much so that nobody could tell the difference? What purpose would that serve except to deceive?
