John 6.37 does refer to all the elect, but why assume irresistibly imposed? Cannot God the Father predestinate by foreknowing our free choice? Jesus is pleading with you to not assume you were selected, but "whoever comes to me will never be hungry again; believes in me will never be thirsty" (v.35). "Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me" (v.45). Free choice. "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life" (v.54).
