We need to be clear about our weakness or sickness. Paul was most clear about his condition. And no sickness is without a cause or causes.

Have we committed any of these precursors?
- disobeyed the Lord
- not carrying out His will
- sinned somewhere
- owe anyone a debt
- violated some natural law
- neglected some special duty
- stubborn individualism
- defiling one's own body
- given to prevent from being proud or loose ("to keep me from being too elated by the abundance of revelations" 2 Cor. 12.7)
- loving oneself too much
- refusing to learn a lesson
- attack by Satan but cicumscribed by the LORD (e.g. Job)

If the healing requires our right relationship with God then to seek a physician for drugs is an act of self. Why should you all of a sudden become selfless now just because you are sick? Those who are so ordinary full of self will be those who anxiously seek for healing as soon as they get sick. Seeking a physician when this is not the solution will in fact agitate the condition or make the person more susceptible the next time.
