The slavery in the Bible is not what you would typically think of as new world slavery. What motivated new world slavery was profit. Whereas Biblical slavery was for economic relief of the servant himself. People place themselves in slavery for economic relief. Indentured voluntary servitude was very ethical. They would often want to remain, unlike the involuntary slavery which were harshly treated. How they were treated makes a big difference. Ancient servitude slaves were treated humanely and regulated by Biblical law. They were not to be treated harshly. They had many more rights than what you would commonly think. Masters were held accountable.

One thing you take away when discussing with others who accuse the Bible of promoting new world slavery, is you realize what shallow thinkers they are. They see things according to their petty selves. They need deliverance from their petty selves (natural thinking).
