It removes verses and parts of verses, including:

"Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation."

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."

(Underlined parts are the parts removed in the ESV)

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son"

"And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil."

"And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

Here's one more verse (Underlined parts are the words in question):

"who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped," (Did they read John 1:1, 1:14, 5:18, and Revelation 22:13?)

Thanks for that. ESV is not my favorite version, but I would have to say it is the RSV first and ASV second. I like the RSV because it was produced right after WWII so I thought to myself the scholars would be more empathetic and more accurate.
