View Full Version : Why Could Jesus Not Return Until the 21st Century?

There are several reasons why Jesus could not return before the 21st century, but the one I would like to point out now has to due with the 200 million unit army in Revelation 9. In 1830 the population was 1 billion for the first time. In 1930 it was 2 billion. Certainly not 1 in 10 people would congregate in the middle east over war.

As of last year it reached 7 billion.

200 million / 7 billion = 1 in 35 people. That's possible.

"And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them" (Rev. 9.16).

Perhaps it doesn't have to be fully 200 million souls, but at least 200 million military pieces including drones.

Did you know that all the horizontal drilling and fracking for Shale Oil in United States is enough to last only a few years. If there are only 500 billion barrels world wide of this unconventional stuff / 100 billion consumed per year = supply for 5 more years. Big deal!

So we can maintain our addiction to oil for another 5 years before prices get real hefty and thus, the need to battle over oil in the middle east.

Hal Lindsey is wrong about his theory by the way that 1/4 die in the 4th Seal and 1/3 die in Rev. 9 for more than half the population. He mistakenly adds these two together, not realizing that the 4th Seal is part of the first 4 Seals that make up the past 20 centuries. The 5th and 6th Seals occurs just before the Tribulation starts. And the 7th Seal opens up the 7 Trumpets of the Tribulation where we see in the 6th trumpet 1/3 will die. So it won't be more than 1/2, but about 1/3. Hal's nuclear holocaust will be much worse than the actual fallout.

The cause of his misreading has to do with the fact that Hal Lindsey is a preteribber onlyist so he starts from this mistaken assumption all believers are raptured before the Tribulation starts so he gets an unrealistic view. Pretribber onlyism is a selfish self-centered view and has no accountability for Christians.

The truth of his mistaken assumption is that first rapture is according to readiness according Rev. 3.10 and Luke 21.36 "before the throne" (Rev. 7.9) before the 1st trumpet of the Tribulation (8.7) begins. These are clearly logical conditional statements. A condition must be fulfilled before the 1st rapture can take place and a condition must occur for you personally to be included in the 1st rapture, otherwise you will be raptured at the start of the 24 months of the 7th trumpet instead (11.15, 1 Thess. 4.14-18), assuming you are born-again.

This condition is the same for the reward to return with Christ to reign over the nations 1000 years (Jude 14,15; Rev. 2.26,27; 20.4-6).

The Holy Spirit told me that Hal Lindsey being 83 years old will never repent of his false teaching, so he will not be included in the 1st rapture, assuming he is saved, nor will he return to reign on earth for 1000 years. Sad!
