View Full Version : The Mistake of Making Matthew 24.29 and Rev. 6.12 to be One and the Same

Some think "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken" (Matt. 24.29) must coincide with Rev. 6: "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake (Haiti 2010/Japan 2011); and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair (H3 Hybrid Nov. 3, 2013), and the moon became as blood (feast Total Lunar Tetrad 2014/15)" (v.12).

But let us consider this problem. Look at all that follows from chapters 7 to 19 after Rev. 6. Hence, we feel the book of Revelation is not entirely non-chronological as some would have you believe. It is rather like a lock tumbler. The past 20 centuries are the 6 Seals (Rev. 6), the 7th Seal (Rev. 7) opens up the 7 Trumpets (Rev. 8-11) of the Tribulation, and the 7th Trumpet (Rev. 11) pours out the 7 Bowls of Wrath (Rev. 15 & 16). Notice how Rev. 12 is very much like Rev. 7.

There is a pattern already established in Scripture where Genesis 2 (not Generals 2--a RTT game coming out in 2013) gives the details of Genesis 1 (not the first C&C Generals game). Should not chapters 12 to 19 also give the details of the major points of the Tribulation from chapters 7 to 11 that contains the Trumpets? thus, leaving chapters 1 to 6 as the past centuries?

Rev. 6.12 is before the Tribulation that begins with the first trumpet (8.7) after Rev. 6. Hence, "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come" (Joel 2.31). "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come" (Acts 2.20).

In conclusion, we believe the signs before the Tribulation and at the end of the Tribulation demarcate the entire 7 year period or 2,520 days (7 x 360). This agrees with the partial rapture view in which just those who overcometh, not all Christians, will be raptured to 3rd heaven "before the throne" (Rev. 7.9) before the 1st trumpet (8.7) of the Tribulation begins. The condition for this first rapture is to be watchful (Matt. 24.40-42), prayerful (Luke 21.36) and keep the word of His patience to escape the hour of trial that is to come upon the whole world (Rev. 3.10).
