What were the four criteria for books to be included in the New Testament?

1) A book of the NT had to be ancient going back to the days of Jesus and His Apostles.

2) A book had to be written by an Apostle or a companion of the Apostles.

3) The books had to be widely used. They couldn't be local favorites. They had to be used throughout all of Christendom.

4) They couldn't propose some kind of heretical or false teaching. They had to toe the line theologically.

This is unrelated, but I just found out interestingly, Pilate was removed from his post because he was too brutal towards the Jews.

The Roman Church is organized in such a way that does not agree with the way the universal Church in God's word is organized. The Roman Church took after the way the Roman government was organized which is contrary to how the Apostles appoint Elders of a locality who then approved the Elders of meeting places within a locality. And there are no pastors in the Bible, nor are only some priests, but all Christians are a royal priesthood. There are shepherds/teachers, but not pastors as is commonly thought at a pulpit by in the pastoral system.

This is how all denominations operate so that is why Christians need to learn to break away from them and at a minimum fellowship with two or three brothers or sisters and build from there.

Praise the Lord!
