The Wall Street Journal reports that a significant portion of the religious right are opposed to Nanotechnology on the grounds it is morally wrong. If that is the case of most of the 'moral majority' I would like to know what, if anything, is morally wrong about it? Nanotech is not biotech, and has nothing to do with stem cell implantation and other things which find opposition on the right.

Nanotech is about the manipulation of atoms into nano-scale structures. This would yield sci-fi like life enhancements including super fast, super tiny computers. Not to mention stain resistant pants ;) What's bad about this technology?
